Vibration/Shudder
Is anyone having a vibration or shudder while driving. I am having a fit trying to get the dealer to find the problem. They keep messing with drive line angles and pinion angles but have not gotten completely rid of it. Hopefully someone can assist.
Thanks, Larry |

Hey guys - Feeling your pain. I went to tire store to get balance rotate and align. But can not be balanced because the wheels are out of round. I have Steel stock wheels on a 2003 F250 and after I thought about it, I have never been able to get the tires fully balanced. I thought it was due to crappy discount tires, but now I know. The Damn wheels were screwed from the start. I know that they got worse over time. Guy at tire store asked if I hit anything, like curb or speed bumb too fast, but not while I was driving. I am the only owner. I watched the rotating of the wheel on the balancing machine and can see the egg shape. The kid worked hard on balance and felt like he got it good, but could not garantee. It was great for the first 1000 yards and then it went to crap. The vibration is not at all speeds, it only happens when the harmonics are perfect and then the whole damn truck rocks up and down. The only thing to do is replace. SOOOO I bought a set of aluminun rims from a guy and will have them mounted soon. My truck uses a 235 width on the steel wheels. The "new" rims use a 265 width tire. Any issues with this? Responses appreciated before I invest another $600+. Thanks |

i've had to have the driveshafts changed on my 05 and 07 i think that they are not completely balanced where they should be,after they were replaced no more vibrations. I have found if you put a leveling kit on a 250 you may need to shim the carrier bearing down anywhere from 1/16 to 3/16 of a inch. Darrell |
