Mine does it too; 325's. My 2000 did it too until I had the pump and gear overhauled to put out higher pressure. Limitations of the hydro-boost system. Drove my friends Toyota Tacoma the other day with the same tires as mine, it was like driving a car-you could literally steer it with one finger.

I just picked my '04 F350 up from Bowen Scarff in Kent, WA. It ended up being the stearing gearbox. It had a very very slight leak but caused me to be unable to turn the wheel, atleast with out worring about breaking something. Cost me $760 after tax for that portion of my repair.

My breaks were slightly spongly too as it is all interconnected.

me too. .

I've noticed that lately, when I start the truck and go to turn the wheel, it is like there is no power steering. But, it then seems to be ok once I start moving. Seems to only happen when starting the vehicle.

I just ordered a "AGR Super Pump" pt#877257 from Summit Racing. I wanted to get the rock ram kit that adds a hydraulic ram but it was out of my budget. I talked to 3 different people that have just replaced the stock pump with one of these. They all had very noticeable increase in powersteering and good reviews. The pump is not much to look at, so I hope it works better than it looks.

I talked with AGR before I got the pump, they really recommended the "Rock Ram" kit which comes with an upgraded pump, upgraded power steering box and adds a hudraulic ram. But you also have to change your pitman arm as well. They said its not a bad idea to replace the hydroboost to a specially ported unit as well, but they said that was not required. If money wasn't an option the Rock Ram kit is the way to go. I talked to several guys from Moab who build rockcrawlers and they say you can one finger turn aired down 44's with the diff. locked, no problem.

I will try to post my results after I get my pump installed, hopefully this Sunday.

Hard Steering

I have a 06 F350 4x4 and turns fine at idle..but going down the road it's hard to keep straight. And if I turn a little to change lanes the steering wheel does not return. Took it to my loacal dealer and they told me that my steering box was binding and needed to replace for almost $1200.00. Has anyone elese had this problem or heard of somthing like this? Dont want to go and replace the box and still have the same problem!!
