Two Questions......
What type of grease is recommended for the slip joint on the rear drive shaft? I have taken mine apart twice and used the Ford Teflon based grease both times, and it doesn't seem to last very long in my opinion....CV joint grease?? The blue coating was visually in very good shape the last time I had it apart, so I think some better grease may help the situation a little..
Second question...My brakes are getting a little interesting... Early build '08 dually, 125k miles (mostly highway-unloaded), original owner as well. Brake pads, front and rear still have 50% or so thickness left, but it seems to take more and more pedal effort to get decent brake action. All the other PSD's in our smal fleet with similar miles and original brakes take much less effort. Would a brake fluid change help? I tried that once and it didn't have any effect on things-seems to be getting worse with time...Hyd. brake booster getting a little tired perhaps. Any ideas??
Thanks,
Mike
