Well, after a major hick-up on the break-in trip. She's pulling good once again. Mileage is even better now so I'm really feeling better!
Hick-up explanation.
After work the day after I got her back, I took a 300 mile trip for the weekend up to Sebring for a Race weekend. Horrible rains and the truck started running really rough. No Power and shaking all over the place. Since I didn't have time to turn around I continued. Fuel mileage on the way up was 7 mpg! (No trailer)
Once in the dry, everything cleared up and fuel mileage returned to normal.
Not sure what caused it as there were no codes in the system but hope it never happens again! Getting too attached to this monster to let her go!

Last Tuesday I was at a truckstop fueling and a duelly 08 F450 was there pulling a car transporter about 40 foot long. The driver told me that Ford had bought back his first 450 because of a rear end failure problem they somehow screwed up. I think he said he lived near Portland Oregon. He got the second truck and was telling me that the milage was abbisimal compared to the first truck. He also said the trailer GVW was totally within the nameplate ratings. Like you said these trucks are great when they are running good but when something goes wrong you are left out in left field for far longer than you should. I hope Ford starts to realize that we the customers are the ones that pay the bills. I hate to say it but a co-worker bought a Titan and he hasnt had anaything to complain about at all-- I still want to at least buy an american name-- I wonder if your differencial and my CC electronics were assembled in mexico or pakastan? Ford when will you start to listen?

Breakin is unheard of to me , we build em today and loadem tonite to the max. If it needs breakin it must be too tight.

I don't know if your truck is lifted or not, but if it is, have them check the driveline angles. I had a guy bring a truck to the shop after going through 3 rear ends, turns out he did the lift himself, and when I measured the angle of the rear driveshaft he was way out and I needed to shim the rear end. Just a thought if in fact you do have the truck lifted.

No lift and fuel mileage has been unimpressive since the repair. Most of the time I'm in single digits around town and towing. Still have a vibration at highway speeds which myself and passengers can feel, yet no one at Ford can ever recreate. (Even WITH my assistance!) Love the truck, but after two bad eggs, this will be the last one. I shouldn't have to fight with the stealership over fixing a $50,000 truck that's less than a year old.

We have an 08 F450 and our ring gear literally tried to go out the back of the pumpkin @ 2500 miles on it. It exploded!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, by the way, They did pull one out of a truck on the lot for us. We raised hell!!!!!!!!!!! We had never pulled anything or even had it in 4 wheel drive yet.
