shop cannot give me an alignment
went to my local shop today and they cannot do a alignment due to the balljoint type end on the track bar (pass. side) having too much play in it. Also the stabilizer bar's end link (drivers side) has play in it too.
my problem is the steering wheel is a little off center and has some left to right play in it (feels loose), but driving 80mph everything is fine, no vibrations. After these parts are changed, then they can do the alignment. truck is a 08 with 82k miles, are these parts covered under the 5k/100,000 warranty? The shop said the parts are dealer only so they will call me tomorrow with prices. |

The stabilizer bar has nothing to do with alignment, if they are telling you it does then they're lying. As for the track bar, I'm surprised you have that much play in already. It wouldn't be covered under the 5yr/100,000 mile engine warranty, it'd be covered under the 5yr/60,000 mile drivetrain warranty but as you stated, you've got too many miles. You wouldn't necessarily feel vibration from a bad track bar, what you would get however is slop in the wheel and possible death wobble from hitting a bump under the right circumstances.

I doubt it would be covered under anything other than basic warranty (3/36)
