4x4trouble

I'm having some issues with my 4 wheel drive. I will be driving down the road and the 4 high light will pop on. Amd flicker occasionally. But while it is doing this I cannot cannot put the truck in 4x4. The light pops on but it doesn't engage. But then the light will shut off an the 4 wheel drive acts fine. Please help.

Do you have an electronic shift transfer case? Or a manual one? It wouldn't go in to 4 wheel drive in these situations because it thinks it's already in. If you have an electronic shifter than that's most likely the problem. Could be weak or loose linkage between the transfer case and the shifter, or a bad shifter. Assuming you have electronic shift, try putting your hubs from Auto to Off. If that doesn't help than the problem is the shifter. If it does than you have a vacuum problem at one of the hubs. Let me know what you find.

Found the problem. The main connection an the transfer case was un clipped some. Cleaned it. Stuck it back on and it works like a champ. Thanks for the help.
