one wheel peel with limited slip
My FX4 has 57K on it, and this limited slip on this truck is a POS! I might as well saved my money and not got a limited slip. Does anyone know if I could get the dealership to replace or fix my LSD(under warranty)?

I'm not sure if they'd replace it or not under warranty...
Is the bumper to bumper now 5yr/60k miles? I would hope that the LS would fall under that. If not and you plan on keeping the truck for a while I'd bite the bullet and install a tru trac. Problem solved. The factory LS isn't the greatest... |

that sucks. wonder if its worth the extra $$$. but it does help some.. in the mud. both of my trucks has\had the limited slip and i have put it to the test a few times. it was better than nothing. but the aftermarket locks im told are really good.

If you are still under warranty I would certainly try that route first. If it's not functioning as designed, it would be no different than if one of your power windows only goes half way down - covered under a warranty repair/replacement. If not under warranty, I would dump the factory LS and go with a Truetrac for all-around usage, detroit locker for heavy duty usage, or ARB Air Locker for "on demand" locked-unlocked ability.

I never even thought about it but I have had problems with my truck since day one. I will see what they tell me also.... Hell my mustang with limited slip seen many of drag racing nights on and off the street and had about 10 times more miles on it then my truck does and it still worked great...

Hello,I'm new to this site but I've had mine looked at three times already and they keep telling me that the clutch's are working just fine.Bull#%#@!!. I'm tired of putting it in four wheel drive just to pull out of easy areas because only one wheel spins. It drives me crazy.I am looking at EATON for some new clutch's.The dealer told me it would be $1800 to make my truck a posi.

When your in the mud or on the street and you try to or not try to spin the tires and they do both rear tires should spin. If only the passenger side does usually the clutches aren't in the best shape usually meaning they need to be replaced.

The limited slip in my 97 (with 160K miles) works fine. Did they make any changes on the newer trucks?
