help with egr take me to school

my dads dually (04 f350) is blowing coolent and we took it to the shop and they said that the egr need to be replaced.....ive tried reading threads about the egr and if we should do a egr delete or a egr block off....all the truck does is pull a 30 foot boat on the weekends other than that it sits in the garage it only has 42,000 miles on it what should we do replace it or delete it? thanks for everything

EGR Help

Hey iv got an 06 f250 6.0L crew cab with the same problem, you might want to try cleaning the egr, so far its been working with my truck here is a link that may help. good luck

If you are out of warrenty most will say delete tha crap, to include the egr cooler. If you can't afford a good delete kit at least block off the cooler and on an 04' you can unplug the egr without any codes.

As far as I know 03 and 04 build dates you can unplug it with out any codes. I've heard that some 05 build dates don't throw codes.

the 03/04s wont throw a code. with custom programming it will disable the egr valve, however it will still open under pressure.

your 04 should still have warranty and if not i would just totally delete the system since its such a piece of chit anyways
