I HAVE A PROBLEM

Can anyone offer some advice? My issue is this, when I'm crusing down the highway at about 70-75mph and accelerate to pass some one, my truck starts to stumble and throw black smoke. I pulled the EGR and cleaned it, it wasn't that durty. I did change the air and fuel filters. Oh.. it is a 03 with 113k on it.

Do you accelerate to the point that it down shifts?

Could be the vanes sticking in the turbo not allowing it to build boost like it should. Do you run the truck hard very often? Have you done any mods. to the truck?

I don't run the truck hard, just sometimes I get on it. I do however run it pretty hard on the highway. The truck is stock.

I would tend to lean towards the vanes sticking causing the problem. Has it done this for a long time?
