Here is my problem, Only some times though, When the truck is on and in idle the battery light kinda flickers and the lights dim a little. i got an amp for my speakers and an 11" tv but the tv is not usually on. I changed out my alternator about 8 moths ago. could this be a bad alternator or bad batteries

Clean all the terminals. That means the one at the alternator and all the ones on the batteries.
Also check the alternator with a volt meter. It should be putting out 14 volts. Minimum is like 13-12.5 volts. Anything lower then that the alternator needs to be replaced. Check the batteries with a load test. If you do not have a load tester you can do the following. With using a volt meter have some crank the engine. Check the batteries while the truck is cranking. The voltage should not drop below 10.5 volts. Any readings below the desired amount those parts need to be replaced. |

It should be able to produce about 110 amps on standard 6.0l models.
I agree with bigcountry on everything except the charging voltage. If the alternator does not put out the proper voltage usually it is a faulty alternator, but youd be really upset if you put an alternator in and thats not the problem... It will need more diagnostics if the alternator output isnt right. |

Check the small single wire the terminal sometimes gets loose mine was coming on at idle changed alt still did it so then I did the right thing and diagnosed it.
