EXHAUST IN CAB

After a cold snap (working in Ohio, 6 degrees...) I started getting exhaust fumes through my heater fan. (I had had the egr cooler replaced about 10k back, under warranty-and was driving when it began to overheat- I would stop, it would cool, made it to where I could check antifreeze-none-drained about 2 gallons added antifreeze). Since about 2 weeks after, began to get exhaust in the cab... is there a valve, a ???? , something that would give me a clue-my work schedule is heavy, do not want to sit for a day..
(new 6.4 in a week or so!!)

It's your Y-pipe the flex part of the pipes like to break.

Is it exhaust fumes or fuel smell? I had fuel smell in my cab when the heat was on, turned out to be a bad o-ring on the engine mounted fuel filter cap.

If you start to see black film starting to build up on the inside of your front window, then its your y-pipe

you got the y pipe back there and you got your uppipe going to the cooler, maybe the flex broke then they were replacing the cooler or at least started it on its breaking point.

look back on the firewall to see if you have any soot back there, ive seen y pipe blow up to where they actually hit the firewall and it makes an awful noise and smells like crap inside the cab. you can get back there with a flash light, from under the truck or on the top and see if you see anything cracked

I also have exhaust smell in the cab with the heater on. It only started after i modified the up pipe and blocked the exhaust end of the egr cooler. Does not do it with th a/c on though. I looked for leak with my hand and visualy when engine is cold and out side temp is around 30 f and no leak found. Any help would be apreciated.

No black film yet, having destroyed a LOT of brain cells in the past, I keep the cab well ventilated to allow the survivors a chance.... (now that I think about it, utilizing the surviving core group.. the windshield does look like my wife has smoked (in the cab...)
