really bad mpg

I dont know what it is but ever since i straight piped it i have all the sudden been getting horrible mpg. Tried 2 different tunes and nothing changed. Last time i got bad mileage it was because my turbo went out but i dont think thats the case this time. Any suggestions?

What kind of millage are you getting? Are you Hand Calculating this or getting the info from the computer? Where are you located?

well i know the computer is off a little bit but it shouldnt be as bad as it is. right now the computer is saying im getting around 8mpg so i would say im really around 10 give or take. But it is a significant difference after i straight piped it. That wouldnt make any sense that just cutting the muffler would do that so i dont know. I use the tunes from innovative and switched from xtreme race to street and adjusted some of the options so im thinking that could be a possibility too. Im in Tuscaloosa right now but im from Dallas.

It has nothing to do with strait piping. Maybe you love the extra power and noise and you have a heavier foot now??????

No there is really no difference in power its just louder but i haven't really let that factor into the way i drive it. I have also noticed that sometimes the engine makes a whining noise in the 1500-2000 rpm range

I ment power from the sct! What kind of whining noise? If the fuel mileage dropped with the new tune i would switch back to the old tune and if mileage is back to normal i would call up innovative!

my mpg dropped to 8-10 recently. no changes to truck or driving style. i was getting 14-17 what happened? dealer says its fine 35,500 on odom
