Exclamation battery light/excessive heat

After driving for a while my battery light starts to blink.I have had it into ford three times. They have replaced the alternater with a 140 amp but I still Have Problem. They claim the engine is running hot but still is within spec from ford.I recently waited for light to start blinking and removed the air filter to increase the airflow. this seemed to stop the light from blinkingbut when I put a new filter in it started again. Any ideas what this might be.
