No Power - more EGR issues

Last week the truck threw p0404 and p0405. I pulled the egr and cleaned the crap out of it...until it shined. (Fun to remove, by the way...)I checked to make sure it wasn't stuck and put it back in.

The truck actually runs WORSE! WTF?!?! It doent shift right and accelerates like it is dragging a sled. No smoke that I could see, no leaks, no puking.

It is now throwing codes p006A and P0401:

P0006 Fuel Shutoff Valve A Control Circuit Low
P0401 EGR Flow Insufficient Detected

What's the deal? Anyone got any ideas?

UPDATE:

I tried unplugging the EGR valve just to see what might happen. Symptoms remain.

I am only getting 8 lbs boost as WOT.

WTF.

mine did that to. It was the egr valve, cooler and oil cooler. I could max out at 50mph. It was pretty bad. hope this helps. Truck ran like crap and no power. They also found a small issue with the turbo and some hoses. Man, she is running good now!

ford covered mine. I was out $100 for the deduc. I guess I got lucky. I bought a SCT with Innovative tunes that turns the egr off. So far all good!!

ug.

if mine is that fouled up, the EGR delete is a no-brainer. I was kinda hoping it was just the valve (...which lists for $400...) but I cleaned it till it shined and the problems are acrually worse now.

After failing to find any other problems, I pulled the EGR back out and replaced the FING gasket and O-rings.

Surprisingly, this must have been the problem. Darn truck hauls A** now!!

what a relief! My next step was pulling the turbo and checking to see if the vanes were stuck!
