Problem with my 6.0L, need help/advice!

I have my truck parked for the winter right now, but a month ago when it started to get cold out, the day before I put it in storage, it was running strange. It started fine and ran fine for the most part, but when I slowed down or came to a stop and tried rolling again, it would hesitate. I could press the accelerator as much as I wanted but it wouldn't rev up the engine, it would just sit there, if i pumped the fuel a bit it would slowly come back to life. When I would try and get it going by pumping the fuel it seemed to be blowing alot of smoke out, rich smelling smoke, which seemed white(although it was just probably white due to the cold?). Once it was going I could drive it down the highway and seemed to have no issues at all.

Any idea of what I am into here? what could cause these symptoms?

4" straight pipe
Diablo Sport programmer(came with the truck)

Have you checked all the obvious stuff like the fuel filters?

Sounds like a egr problem same thing happen to me while driving back from Florida stop at a dealer b/c it got so bad where I could hold the gas down and nothing but smoke comin out cost me about 250 I think. Take it in and see what they say cost about 75 bucks to just have'em look at it could be a injector going out to.

Fuel filters were replaced not too long ago, I have a new set ready to put in once the weather warms up. That will be the first thing I look into.

I had something similar happen to me, but it was much worse. It ended up being the #2 and #4 fuel injecters. After all the work at the dealership and $835 dollars later. It runs fine. I have been using the 2-stroke oil additive since & it has been running better as well. I usually have premixed for 12 gallons or about 1/2 tank remaining when I get fuel.

Does it continually start hard cold and then get better as it warms up?

Mine only did a few times, before the injector failure. Other then that, it has been running fine.

I only had trouble the day before I parked it, so I'm not totally sure. But it seemed the temperature didn't affect it all that much. I guess I'll have to wait till spring to see what is going on, Better start saving for repairs now though.

Sounds exactly like mine last week, was the EGR.
