Power Steering Issues
Got my truck back from Ford after they fixed the Antifreeze leak (Thanks Scruff) and had the truck 3 days. Went outside Saturday morning and started the truck, started loaded the truck with trash to make a dump run. Went inside to grab a drink to only come outside and see fluid leaking all over my driveway. I look up under the struck and it looks like a power steering leak. Unload the trash and drive to Ford. They call me today and tell me they need to replace the (pump/box) can't remember, and they will use a remanufactured one. They quote me $1180.00
![]() Does this seem right? Truck is stock as far as wheels, tires, and suspension. |

Is it the pump that needs replacing or the steering gear box. It makes a big difference as for the price goes.
The pump can be purchased from an autoparts store for about 150 bucks. It takes about 3 hours to replace it on your own. The steering gear box I have no clue because I have never replaced it. |
