Hi everyone! I am getting ready to tear out my stock fan clutch and replace it with a Hayden clutch. While I have it out I am looking at doing some other maintenace items (fan belt replacement, radiator hoses etc.). I was wondering if it would be worth it to have the radiator professionally flushed and rodded while I had it removed for the fan clutch replacement? :dunno: I have heard that since the radiator has plastic tanks that you don't need to have this service done, but with all the problems people have with clogged EGR coolers and oil coolers I thought it might be worthwhile. Anyone else do this? Is it more of a waste of money? Just looking for some advice before I spend $100 doing something that may not be needed. I have a coolant filter system on the truck, but since I have already replaced one EGR cooler :tard: I thought maybe this would be a good way to get some extra junk out of the sytem. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!! Thanks! :thumb:
So why not the Hayden fan clutch? I ask because there isn't much other than theirs, and I am tired of Motorcraft parts that are poorly designed and continue to fail. What kind of performance improvements do you see with the "performance" aluminum radiator? Thanks for the help!
I have had no problems with Motorcraft as a matter of fact I pulled my OEM fan clutch
and did the snowplow clutch both are in 100% working order as a matter of fact I have had no issue with Motorcraft parts at all
I like Hayden stuff so don't think I am bagging on them I would just prefer OEM
the performance radiator is the same one Bulletproof diesel sells but if u buy direct it's much cheaper has a good warranty aluminum tanks ( still a crimp seal )
no performance gain but I wanted new and didn't want to take my old plastic tank unit in for cleaning
