Another no start problem...

i drove the truck all day yesterday, came home plugged it in, went to start it at 8am today, cycled the glow plugs about 5 times and it just cranks and tries to start then clears out and cranks untill the batts go dead. i called ford and they said it may or may not be under warranty and i have to get it towed there. Just great. im good with turning wrenches so may b i could do it my self if i knew what was going on? anny help is appreciated. Thanks.

What year? Looks like an 05+, but it could be any number of things. I would start by making sure the batteries are both fully charged. Have they ever been replaced? Next, do you have any visible smoke from the tail pipe when you are cranking it over? It's likely going to require tools/diagnostic equipment that the average person isn't going to have to verify where the problem is located, but we may get lucky based on your description of your symptoms.

its an 05 with 61k on it, it has the powertrain warranty but they say it may not be covered. i do have a batt problem with the truck aswell, sometimes overnight the batts will go stone dead, they were replaced over the summer, every time i turn around its something else with this truck.

And the reason for that would be?
They are full of chit, talk to a different dealer.
Get those batts out and warranty them wherever you bought them and see if that helps.

Well i got it to start but it would run very knocky and rattling like crazy, wont steady idle, and blows massive black smoke idling. i called aaa and its on the way to a dealership. i talked to my buddy who is a ford tech he said it could have a oil leak inside the engine, or something? when i called the dealership the second time i talked to some 1 else and they said who ever told me it wasnt under warranty was wrong. so idno if there playing games over there or what. so ill let you all know what happens.

is that covered under powertrain warranty?

The engine warranty is to 100k and yes, it would be covered by that. The powertrain is 3 years/ 36k miles.
