Hi folks....
Read many variations of sputter problems and can't quite find my specific scenario so here goes:
My truck usually runs fine but on occasion I get this sputter, it's not necessarily rhythmic, almost acts like a gas engine passing water. It doesn't happen at low speeds and always idles well. It usually happens under a slight load between 45-55 mph. Was towing my camper the other day up a slight incline and it started while on cruise control. I think I took it off cruise then let off on the gas then stepped back on the pedal and it went away. Other times on hills and under load it's totally fine. It's very intermittent, as I said sometimes it's totally fine. Fuel filter? Water separator filter? Should I just start there? I'm almost afraid to bring it to a dealer as I hear of so much incorrect diagnosis. Need advice on how I should solve this.
Thanks..
