Ford Updates

2006 f-250 this is after the egr valve, egr cooler and oil cooler was replaced. I just had my truck updated and man, the problems. First, the truck seems to be alot slower even with the sct. Second, my mpg gauge is acting funny. My needle seems to be ok, but my computer will start with 330 miles per tank and start to track down pretty fast. When it hit about 200 with about 30 min of driving it will go back to 330. I have no idea what is going on. My needle was on E and my computer was flashing low fuel, so i filled up. truck only took 16 gal. I know thats not right. any one had this problem? D+@# updates!

What updates??

I assume you took your truck into ford and they reflashed your pcm??? Can you specify which "update" they performed?

man that is the whole reason i never update anything. even the pc. always come up witha new problem. good luck

it was a egr update and a harsh transmission, there were a few more I will have to find out. yea I hate they did that. You know, if it was working why did they change it? I guess it was going to happen one day!

Did you check your strategy before and after going to the dealer? They more than likely reflashed your PCM and if your strategy is different, your SCT tunes will need to be updated to work properly.

Truck was stock, the sct was purchased after it got out of the shop. Sct was updated before it left SCT when I purchased it. Hope this helps. Still running odd.

What do I need to tell them when I take it to ford? It is still running rough and the fuel gauge is acting odd. I just want to say the right thing and I don't want them to mess it up. Any ideas? Maybe it just needs a reflash?
