started today

Started my 06 truck today, drove it to the dump and while i was unloading it it seems that my turbo is surging at idle. I have stacks so it is easy to hear. the normal sound then a sugre and back again, keeps doing it, never has it done it before. The engine rpms do not go up or down. I still have right amount of boost while driving normal, getting on it hard it runs like a champ.......what could it be to make my christmas nerve racking? I have an intake on it, straight piped and a hypertech tow programmer. All my gauges read normal range. 38k miles. I even took it back to stock and it still does it.

Have you taken it to the dealer within the last couple of years to get the computer updated? I know you have an 06 but I have an 04 that did the same thing a while after I bought it brand new. Took it to the dealer and they said all they had to do was update the computer...presto, it was fixed. Hasn't done it since.

You might have missed some of the mailings from Ford. I think there were a couple things that were updated on the 06. One of the techs on here will know for sure.

Is it a consistent drop in the sound, like every half second or so it does it? Could be an injector going bad. Speaking from experience

Hey Scuffy, I was assuming since he "drove to the dump" it was at operating temperature.
