Talking Question about oil ? Have you heard this ??

A mechanic at a ford dealer (Frank Talbert Ford in Desot) told my
buddy that Rottela T oil screws up the injectors (how) is it true?

Have you heard anything bad about rotella t ?

What about the 5x40 fully synthetic, i read in diesel mag a guy said you should never run 5 waight in a diesel ?

Ive been running Mobil 15 x 40 has anyone heard anything bad about Mobil ??

fixing to chang oil and dont know what to do.
Thanks for all the help guys.

i run rotella t 15w-40 . dont think anyone has ever said anything bad about it. It meets Fords standards for oil. i definately wouldnt use 5 weight but it might also depend on your location and what you do with your truck.

I have used only Rotella in all three of the Powerstrokes I have owned. No oil related issues with any of them. I just switched to the 5w-40 synthetic. I haven't seen the Rotella synthetic in any other weight but maybe it's because I'm in Texas.

Same here Rotella syn 15w-40, the 5w would probably used in very cold climates.

Rotella will not screw up the injectors. Don't see how its possible.

Motorcraft 15w-40 and Motorcraft FL-2016 works for me!

My 07 Cummins came stock with syn 5w-40. I've run Rotella in most of my other diesel engines. A buddy with an excavating business buys it 55 gallons at a time. He swears by it in PSD. This truck I have now runs Delo 15w-40. Doesn't eat or leak a drop. I also run 2 quarts of Lucas oil treatment.
