Mine did the same thing when it was below 0 the other day but Im pretty sure allot of it is because I took my Air intake heater coil out.
As far as a shop I take mine to Colchin Automotive and Diesel in Arvada. I can get you a phone number if you want.

Prolly has a lot to do with the colder weather. Try plugging in next time and see if its as bad.

So when you headed back this way Nick?

Mine did the same thing Monday night when when I cranked it at -6 degrees. It looked like a steam engine for about 3 minutes or so, but all is well now.

I need to report back to FT. B on the 5th of Jan, not to excited about that.

I did have it plugged in it was -19 here the other night, I guess I am a little worried because I just put an SCT on it. If it runs good and doesn't smoke white, and my coolant and oil levels don't drop I will wait and have Scott put some studs in when I get back to NC, and maybe go ahead and get that darn EGR cooler taken care of! If it keeps it up I will need to get it looked at / fixed before I drive back to NC or coolant destroys the motor, so a number cant hurt. Thanks guys

I'm headed back out on the 7th so I'll have to catch up with ya when you get back.
As long as it's not too bad you should be ok to drive back....mine lasted most of the summer driving back and forth to Savannah and making trips up to PA including a few with the trailer until I finally finished off the HG's at SSS with a couple 1/8 passes and a burnout And even then I still made another roundtrip to Savannah...but she was whistling from the degas bottle real bad at that point
