White/sometimes blue smoke and trannie shift problems
I recently removed my SCT tuner from the truck after hitting 100,000 miles (made me feel somewhat better, I dont know why), and immediately my truck began acting up. I had no issues with the SCT and it all ran fine (using Smoke tune), but I figured why not give the regular tune shot since the warranty is up.
So now, back to stock. Cold starts are terrible in the morning, and its not even that cold down here. The engine sputters for a while before it gets warm, and plumes of white smoke come out. I get going on the way to work and the trannie does not want to shift. It merely keeps revving up making more white and blue smoke come out, until i let off the skinny pedal and press it down again to make it 'manually' shift. Does the same shifting issues when I start up to go home from work as well. Whats the deal? Is this something I should immediately get looked in to? Or would it just be better off for me to run the SCT tune that made no issues whatsover? Thanks for any help, I'm a bit unsure of what to do. |

i would try pulling some codes with your sct. sounds like an injector or glow plug issue, starting to see ficms go bad causing issues like this.

if it ran perfectly with the tune and the stock file runs like crap is suspect a corrupts stock file. check for codes load the tune back and see if problems disappear. if they do i would suspect the stock file. SCT should be able to help with a corrupt file. From what i understand it takes the trans about 2 weeks to relearn it's shift points.
