o4 6.0 Stumbles when accelerating, Why?

This is a 35000 mi truck. My first diesel. Has 5" K&N Intake and 5" SS Exhaust. I am not aware of any other mods as I bought it used.
I can handle Turbo Lag or Spooling up and this is what the sales mgr told me I was expieriencing. But it was not. Upon acceleration the truck would stumble. As if it was stalling with no throttle response. Would also give a puff of white smoke and then take off. Took it in and they found that the throttle position sensor needed replaced. On the way home it stumbled once briefly... Thought it was clearing it's throat so I tried to forget about it. About 40mi from the dealer I slowed down for a right hand turn. Guess what! It stumbled real bad after I made the turn. Seemed like an eternity, but lasted for about a minute, huffed alot of smoke mostly white and then started responding to the throttle again. Drove to the destination about 1mi away and shut er down. Came out in a little bit fired it up, took off down the road sputtered a few times and when I turned right onto the main road again it stumbled.
I cannot find a combination of factors that will duplicate this on a regular basis. Although it seems to happen more when it is hot than cold. Are there other 6.0 owners expieriencing these symptoms? If so what have you found to clear them up?

I would bet its a dirty EGR vavle. You can pull it and clean it in 20 minutes.

+2 on the EGR valve. I had the same issue. The Dealer took care of it for me. It may be a recall. On the 04s, make sure you get all of your recalls and flashes down. Mine has worked super since I had it flashed.

just a question to add to the topic.....do u need to replace the rubber orings when u pull the valve?

by the way its the cylinder type piece with an electrical connector on top located on the left middle when u are standing at the bumper.its got 2 small bolts holdin it on...mine was a pain to get out so i gave up, i will defeat it this weekend

My immediate seat of the pant reaction to the cleanup of the EGR valve is........... if you haven't done it, do it. You will not regret it. Granted I have only owned this truck for about two weeks but it has made a noticable difference. Thank You so much.
