2004-hard start checklist

Hey guys,
Starting work on a 2004 built 08/03. 218k and fresh head gaskets. Unsure of any other repairs done on it.
No start hot, let it cool 30 minutes usually starts. Good and strong cold starts. Today while letting off the throttle owner stated it just died, I towed it to my place.
Ficm voltage good/ Sync-yes, new OEM oil cap and filter.

Pictures in order
KOEO
While cranking (truck DID start after cranking more to build HPO)
Last two are at idle

Owner wants to do Dieselsite HPOP if that's the issue, EGR delete, coolant filter, oil cooler, IPR (could be an issue since it just had work done)
and a few more things.
I plan to pressure test the system, pull IPR and then go from there.
Think oil rail nipple o-rings are a possibility?

Just wanted help to ensure I cover all the bases.
Thanks
Dustan

Dustan, If you are going to pull the oil rails to do the nipples and o-rings, I would first look at the Dummy plugs and stem pipes. They are known to be a major fault for the "Cold Start" Issue.

Rick, with this motor being the early version it does not have dummy plugs or stand pipes like the 2004.5+ motors

Guys why would the ICP pressure be above 20 after a cold soak all night and day?

Early 2004s (mine is a 10/03) DO have stand pipes. They had never been replaced, and were part of my HPO leak issue.
I had a hot no-start and replaced my stand pipes, along with the ICP, and all 8 injectors.

They don't seem to be, but with a HPO leak, you may as well change them anyway, to prevent issues. My techs here at BPD recommended them to be changed on mine. That's just me, though.

Excuse my grammar Nazi-ness. I can't help it!

Haha that's fine, my hands are dirty and was typing quick.
Intake is out and I was surprised to see this intact.
And who the F*** installs a ground wire like that when it has a good eyelet on the end?!?!

LOL, maybe someone needs there glasses checked.

To answer your ICP question I've noticed many of them have a number higher then zero all the time.

HPOP might be next place to go.
