Front End Clunk

2003 F250 4X4. Loud clunking noise from what appears to be passenger side front. Currently 142K on truck. Original Ford ball joints replaced with Moog's at 65K. New sway bar links, sway bar bushings and front shocks. When I raise the front end and shake the wheel at 12 and 6 I have no play. At 3 and 9 I have considerable side to side movement. No vibration in the wheel, no pulling, no grinding noise. Just loud clunking over bumpy roads.

Assuming from the side to side play its a wheel bearing/hub going bad??

Check the bushings in the swaybar endlinks. They don't typically last very long and when they go bad, it sounds like someone is hitting the floorboard with a rubber mallet.

Could be a loose shock, bad swaybar bushing, or the exhaust hitting the underside somewhere. noises drive me crazy.
