Question high idle HELP?

Ok so it looks easy enough. I found the correct wires so I thought immediately. Hooked it up to try it out and it started to idle up and then killed the engine. Twice in a row... Upon further investigation I realized that I had hooked one end of the toggle to the ptovrev wire as it was labeled. It was the orange wire with red stripe. I switched to the solid orange wire and tried again with no result. After killing my engine I now have the little engine block light in my cluster lit up all the time. Need some advice from somebody smarter than me. The wires are all there and there is a sticker attached around them. I will list most of the wires as I got off the label.
Large wires:
Red
Black
Blue
White

Small wires:
orange = PTO
orange/lt. blue stripe = PTOC
orange/red stripe = PTOVREV
orange/yellow stripe = PTORPM
orange/black stripe = PTOGND

My truck is an 06 F250 if that helps at all. The high idle mod sounded simple enough, but I'm stuck. I know I've got power off the lead from behind the OBD port as I tested that wire and its hot. I'm just not sure which wire to hook to the other end of the toggle switch I bought to complete the project. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Got it

Ok, so I'm the biggest dumba@@ on this site! I got to checking around and I read that you have to have the parking brake SET! Worked right away. Now if I can get that light off my dash. I'm assuming that if the engine symbol remains lit in the little cluster of lights in the center of the dash, that it would mean that in my earlier attempt with the wrong wire I "threw a code" with my engine killing like it did... Once again someone smarter than me chime in please. Other than that the high idle mod is a success and really easy. Just make sure to positively identify the correct wires and make sure you read the procedure on here and understand the directions before you make the simple mistake I did.

I believe if you disconnect the batteries the light will reset and go off.
Disconnect both cables from both batteries and leave it that way for 1 hour...reconnect and try it.

it worked

Thanks Clay. I unhooked them for about 2 hours and the light went away.

orange wire

on my truck the wires were labeled with a white sticky label stuck around the whole bundle. The orange was marked simply "PTO". the rest of the orange wires had different colored stripes and were also for various functions for the PTO if so equiped from the factory.
