03 6.0 with miss while crusing & rough cold start
ok my 03 has developed a funny problem and i wanted to see what you guys think it is b4 taking it to the dealer. first off its getting cold here and mornings are around 30-35 degrees, when it is first started it runs rough with white smoke for about 30sec and then once high idle kicks in it kinda smooths out but if you try to drive to soon it goes right back to the rough idle. the next problem is after letting it warm up for 5 min or so when you drive there is a miss while crusing down the the highway not enough to change the rpm but you can feel it. the problem will continue no matter how long you drive it but after a while if you turn off the truck and restart the problem is gone. this works 80% of the time, what do you think the problem cound be? i am taking it in on tuesday to have the newest flash installed and they are going to go over everything else. since i have installed the edge the problem is not as bad if that makes sense to you, also do i need to remove the edge b4 taking it in for the reflash or can i leave it in? the truck is far from being under warrantee it has 177K on it.

no sure if the edge is a piggyback or a reflash system but it is best to put your truck back to stock. ..... sorry man got nothing for the rest of your question

Go to the dealer and get them to put the latest reflash in there adn then go drive it and see, fixes 90% of them
|

took it n and had it reflashed, they told me reflash would not help because #4 injector tested bad but they reflashed it and gave me an estimate to replace the 1 injector (900.00). now it starts and runs smooth as can be but still has a slight miss every once in a while while crusin down the road. i made a 100 mile trip today and it missed maybe 5-6 times, b4 it was happening all the time i could not keep count. going to look into replaceing all the injectors to be safe as the truck has 177K on it, what kind do you guys recomend?

If you are gonna replace the injectors I would go with Casserly 190's and a custom tuned SCT

well i was thinking i would leave it stock for reliability. also after doing all 8 injectors not going to have any cash left to buy a new programmer. does casserly have stock size injectors also?

i just did a little searching and all i can find are 7.3 injectors from him and i have a 6.0 does he rebuild those also?
