How is the temp guage? Have you lost any coolant? Stock fan isnt electric, good to upgrade to electric if your pulling heavy loads in the summer.

clutch fan is electronically activated when pcm feels it needs to be , it has had to come on you just may not have heard it , make sure coolant level is full, and were you pullin anything when noticed it

Sorry to jump in Joe...but Scott, is there certain temps the clutch kicks in? Or is it multiple factors added together?

On my brothers truck the fan clutch would come on a lot and it turned out to be a fin or two on the water pump broke off and it wasn't cooling enough..

temp gauges are normal, i have not towed anything when this happens, also the reservoir is empty (i was waiting on some one to point that out) what kind of coolant can i put in there? i am letting the truck cool down now to add coolant into reservoir.
