Engine doesn't match?

So, I have been going through my truck doing some check work (oil, tranny, coolant) and decided to get my serial #'s together for reference. Lo and behold, the serial plate on my engine is stating that it is a 05' build. Seeing as how my truck is an 04', is there anything I should worry about here? As far as FICM, ECM, etc... not being set properly or does it matter? I bought this truck roughly a year ago and can't believe I didn't check this stuff. Furthermore, I had some pretty extensive work done on it by Ford and they never mentioned this. Again, does it matter or should I just forget about it? Thanks for the help.

If the engine replacement was done by Ford they by policy would have done any flashes or programming changes if any. Your probably good to go.

Ya can always have a dealer run the vin and engine numbers and find out.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure as I bought the truck from a used diesel dealer. But I will definitely get with Ford to see if they can verify the match for me. I guess what I am wondering is whether something like this should have been listed on my Carfax or in my paperwork from the dealer I purchased from?

Whatever the reason or "issue" was or is...

There is nothing to be concerned about. If the truck runs, then the FICM and engine are interchangeable. It would not run if it wasn't the same. Most computers just have different flashes for different effects. nothing dangerous.
Just enjoy your truck!

The thing to remember Oasis and Carfax can only report on what has been actually reported to them.

Fords Oasis will show warrenty work but not always a job you have done on your own initive such as changeing glow plugs or injectors.

Car fax works primarily off of insurance claims. no claim filed no report.

My wife bought a 05 dodge neon in 07, she ran a car fax nothing showed up.

After doing some front end work on it a few years later, I could see where the entire front clip radiator support and both fenders had been repaired.
Turns out the used car dealer had repaired it out of pocket, no insurance claims ever filed.
