just a thought but why dont you wait untill the 2008's come out so you can post on how kicka$$ they are or aren't. unless maybe you need a new truck now.

quick question how much does a new 07 cost(the one your looking at)

it is a 2007 lariat, crewcab, swb, diesel, torqshift auto, outlaw package, 3.73, heated seats, back up sensors, 20" wheels, 12.5K receiver, 6CD system, it stickers for $49,980. but i already have them at $43K.
and with all the trouble that ford had with the 6.0 i will not be a guinea pig for the 6.4. also i think that it is an ugly body style. i will be much happier with my 07.

Two things there Etalian, J Wiger, James, gave you a pretty good evaluation.
I have been studying these things, asking stupid questions to gather information, for a long time until I finally bought my 2006... The problems also seem to be more in stock ones not run hard enough. It seems like a lot of the turbo problems were from corrosion, like a real wet run, then parked up for a week or more. And the EGR the same, run around too soft and not "blown out". There seem to be more problems with those that tried to take it easy on them.. When I talk with the motor shops and performance shops, the general feeling is a lot of the early problems were more from people not running them HARD enough. Yes Ford did open up the turbo clearances, my Dealer guy hear indicated some of that was even done aftermarket here on some of those 03-04 units. Yes Ford did a redesign on the EGR... And there are some more improvements...

And yes, the newer ones are a lot more refined.. And yes Jame Wiger is pretty much right on. I like the way he talks. Now my research on the 6.4, through my own network, is that they ONLY went to boring out the same 6 litre to allow the same performance with more emission controls.... The increase in performance will be the twin turbo, to pick up the high end and low end as well. Now me? I bought the latest 06, new for us here in Oz... I will wait until the 6.4 is put through h*ll for 12 months before getting my ultimate F-550 big gooseneck hauler... My own opinion? The hard yards to work the bugs out of the 6.0 are done. You think expensive? Try on $130,000 Australian x .76 U.S. is $98,800... I must believe in my research a little eh? I act like a novice (which I am with the 6.0 anyways) to get people to give me their experience and opinions which I weigh with the larger numbers of experience and opinions gathered from many sources.. and my own engineering. But I have a little faith in the 6.0, and while I admit, the 7.3 which I have had 2 of an IDI and the PSD is an extremely robust engine, it was rough and noisey, and the tranmission not even half as good as the 5 speed behind the 6 litre. The overall package of the 6.0 and transmission is better, quieter, smoother, and feels faster due to the transmission. And don't worry, you should hear the horror stories from the Duramax and Cummins mobs, they have their teething problems as well. I am happy with my choice. AND

I PUT MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS... ha!

Good choice! I love my Outlaw! the only problems I have with it are the radio, the sales guy said that the cd player would handle MP3s but it doesn't.
The 08 will handle MP3s. I have fixed this problem with a nice Kenwood DVD player with GPS. The other thing I don't like is the cheap platic bedliner. It's like lining the bed with ice, nothing stays put. I think I'll fix that in the spring with a Rhino lining.

Is it an F-250? My F-350 sticker said $51,000 and I paid about $44,000.

Jay

its a f-250. my sticker is $49,980. first offer was 46K. now have him down to 43K. but i think it will stay there because he is giving me a really good deal on my trade. maybe get him lower but he is giving me kbb for my trade. but i CANT WAIT. and the outlaw is so much better than the harley edition.
