The alternator looks easy to replace but what is the trick to loosening the belt?

I did it redneck style. Sat on the bat. grabbed th belt pulled up and took it off the alt. Installed new alt. Pulled belt up enought to slip it back on the Alt.

if it a 7.3 there is like a nut on the tensioner and you can put a wrench on there and pull it back which loosens the belt kind of a hassel if your by yourself tho

Sounds easy... What about for a dual atlternator set up. The top one can be changed as described, but the lower one looks a bit more involved.

Thanks
