PUKING OUT THE COOLANT BOTTLE

THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVISE GUYS.
HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION,I HAVE SIGNS OF THE COOLANT PUKING OUT THE COOLANT BOTTLE,I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK FOR OVER A YEAR AND THE COOLANT HAS NEVER GONE DOWN.NOW THE COOLANT IS ABOUT 1.5 INCHES BELOW THE MIN LINE.COULD IT BE THE TEMP AND THE A/C ON ALL THE TIME? THE TEMP HAS BEEN 32-35 CEL FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS.ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH THE TRUCK STOCK FOR THE LAST COUYPLE OF DAYS AND THE TEMP HAS DROPPED TO 20 CEL.I WILL CHECK AGAIN TODAY FOR MORE SIGNS..

Sounds like an EGR cooler starting to go and could possibly have headgasket issues.

WOW!!!

Their is actually a major issue with the 6.0L and the clutch fan stator. I can't fully remember what the TSB all has to say, but it's about the cooling fan not coming on and wire chaffing. I'll find the tsb for you tommorow and post it. I know you will need the stator replaced. Thats why your resevoir boiled over, your truck probably overheated.

ill agree with all above answers , if diagnosis is properly followed , all these components are checked, pull codes , see if there is a code in there for the clutch fan , if not thats probably not your problem , the egr cooler is a possibility , if its puking real bad , you probably are on the right track with assuming headgaskets , remove the egr valve and see if valve is wet if so , then egr cooler is in the beginning stages of going out , therefore loss of coolant, check it over and diagnose it properly before assuming anything

Hey Scott,,,,,,,,,somewhere I read where Ford has lowered the coolant level in the bottle.
Any truth to that?????

Sorry If I Appear To HI-JACK. Just adding since you are looking at this level
they lowered the level from te original fill mark a long time ago under a recall, its lowest point is supposed to be at the minimum mark on the degas bottle

I like the little sticker we put on for the degaus bottle...so cute.

I'd still start with the clutch fan stator..or at least pull codes...or at least check to make sure the wires haven't come in contact with the fan blades.
