ALT??

Replaced my batteries 3 days ago one was bad so I'm sure the other was on its way. Left for work this morning after the truck warmed up hit the highway voltage dropped to 11.5 lost all boost no check engine/battery light nothing limped it home at 35 as it would not go any faster. Is this an alt problem or something else. Could they have sold me a bad battery? I'm at a loss I have not yet had the alt tested yet.

Sounds like an alternator failure, assuming the cables and connections are good. Buy a DC Power 180 or 190 amp if you can swing it. The OEM alternator is way undersized. If you elect to go OEM, get the 140a upper alt that comes on the dual alt trucks.

If your truck went into limp mode you had to throw a code. Do you have a good code reader?

Maybe it wasn't limp mode. I have edge CTS. That's what I based all my voltage off.

Then yes, I agree that you have either a bad cable or alternator. Low voltage will cause your truck to act up.
