6.0 powerloss until warm
Good Morning,
My 2005 F250 6.0 has an issue! When ever it sits over night and I go to leave for work the next morning it starts and runs fine, but when I take off down the road it doesn't have alot of get up and go, it runs about 2500rpms at 40mph. Within a couple of miles and everything is warmed up it runs like a new one. It's like the rpms will rev up but the truck isn't going as fast as it should for those rpms. Anyone have any suggestions???? Thanks! |

I don't have any suggestions, but my work truck an 04' is the same way.

How long have you had this truck? The truck is designed to hold back on power until the trans gets warmed up.

I'm guessing it could be normal, cause it doesn't smoke or run bad at all other than the warm up. Guess I could be just trying to go before it is warmed up enough..

You need to get a scanner and run a buzz test and a cylinder contribution test. Injectors can usually act up when its cold.

mine is that way, i just let it run for 5 minutes or so before i leave. its real bad in the winter too.

mine did the same thing..had 2 bad injectors. wouldn't get out of it's own way till it warmed up. watched some ford tech videos from this site and then went to the dealer the vids said injectors and so did the dealer.

i'm guessing injectors....find a good tech, perhaps NOT the dealer. (not saying dealers are bad, just syaing if you arent getting the answers you want, its ok to look elsewhere.)
