I spoke to the trailer manufacturer today and found that the problem is the the TBC that Ford built is garbage. The same controllers that control electric brakes also control electric over hydraulic brake systems but for some reason the parameters that Ford has utilized in there controller will not function. The good news is that I can purchase the same harness plug on the back of the Ford TBC and solder it up to the aftermarket controller. I can then disconnect the onboard TBC and plug in the aftermarket without cutting any wires under the dash so that when I sell this truck in four years I can plug it all back together. Now maybe everyone will understand my frustration with this controller. There should be no reason at all for it not working. |
