03 F250 needing ball joints
I just checked out my truck earlier to see if I had front end problems or just needed an alignment and I realized I need drivers side upper ball joint. I plan on doing the upper and lower at the same time and if I have enough funds then I'll do both sides while I'm at it. My question is will I need any special tools besides a ball joint press to remove and install the ball joints. I remember seeing a special socket one time that was used to remove and install the ball joint camber shim so I just thought I'd get the low down before I start buying parts and tearing into it just to find out I don't have what I need as this is my daily driver.

Not 100% sure about that, but I have a link here where I bought my wheel bearings. They have ball joint kits for you. http://catalog.powerstrokeshop.com/p...tegoryID=84614 |

No other special tools needed besides the press.......other than the fact that you will want the backside hub..sometimes called an excluder seal....replaced. It takes a special tool to install that seal but for the price of the tool used to press it in place, you would probably be better off arranging having the local dealer install them on each axle for you for whatever they would charge

The truck started feeling funny at 91,000 miles which is when I bought it so I didn't check anything until 97,000. Marc you wouldn't happen to know who sells this tool or who makes it. I'm all about having the right tool for the job and I don't let anyone work on my vehicles unless I need some exhaust bent up.
