'04 6.0 HPOP

Guys,
I have an '04 f250 with the 6.0 that I've owned since new. Only have 75k miles on it and it's been a good truck for me. I am experiencing 18-20 degree temp differential between oil and coolant when driving at interstate speeds. The oil cooler is leaking as well and I know it's time to change it and the EGR cooler. I went to a shop and when I inquired they suggested replacing the HPOP as well. I was quoted $2,500.00 for the job which includes the aforementioned pump replacement. My questions are- Does price seem to be in line and is the replacement of the HPOP something you would do on the truck if it were yours? Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.

Why are you replacing the pump???
It has absolutely nothing to do with the reason for your high oil temps and nothing to do with why your oil cooler exploded...nor would those have any effect on the pump.
Ask them why they want to change it...

The guy at the shop said that I may want to consider replacing the pump since he says they've seen a number of them fail @ 80-100k miles. I realize that the pump has nothing to do with either cooler. The shops rationale was that since it's apart already I may want to consider having it replaced at the same time. I was asking for others experiences ad opinions in re to this.
