Oil Pressure Gauge gone crazy

2005 F-250 6.0 The Oil Pressure gauge reads something different every time you start the truck. It can be high or low or in the middle. It goes way low below the Normal lines for high and low. Nothing wrong with the engine or Oil. Now any ideas if its a gauge problem or is it a sender problem. Any tests I can run??

The oil pressure gauge doesnt actually tell a value at all. The "sensor" is literally an on/off switch that cuts off at I believe 7 psi in the LPO system. Its likely the "sensor" or wiring, if not your gauge cluster. You can always get a real gauge with a pillar mount or something. I would start troubleshooting with the "sensor" not sure where it is located but the 6.0 bible will certainly show you where. You can just google "6.0 bible" and youll find it. I believe the gauge is actually adjustable based on voltage so you may have a short.
