Long crank, puff of white smoke

Truck still takes 3-4 sec to crank before cold start. Today was the first time I noticed a puff of white smoke at start up. Gave it a little gas then another very small puff. I just added 50 HP the other day and I heard sometimes itll do that. Not sure though. Once the truck is warm it'll start right up no problem and drive fine. Took it to a diesel mechanic last week to see whats taking so long to start, of course no codes came up, I would have to leave it there to get a cold start an see whats up. They took a guess and said maybe FICM or bad injectors but the truck only has 63k miles so this would really sting.

Anyone have any suggestions? All help is appreciated. Thanks.
