Most likely that switch is your problem, it sends a signal to the brake lights and also sends a signal to your interlock solenoid in the steering column to release the shifter from park.
In an emergency if your truck won't shift out of park, shut off the engine, then turn your key to the run position, hold the brake and shift the truck into neutral, then start the truck and shift to drive or reverse.
