Talking Steering Feels Loose!

I was curious I mean my truck has 100k+ miles so Im sure it's normal, but what could I do to make my steering tighter and more precise? without taking her into Ford. I feel like my dealership tries ripping me off everytime I go in.

any suggestions welcome.

Thanks guys!
Sincerely,
Matt

shoot a PM to the vendor of your choice, probably run from 80-150 depending on type, single or dual.

My truck was wandering all over the road, so i replaced my ball joints and it made a big difference. Powerstrokeshop.com had the whole front end kit for around 260 i think.

it could be one of the many possibilities. i know that it helped my truck and ball joints are common on the s.d's. The steering gears also wear out which could cause play or tie rod ends. If your truck has a stabilizer then maybe it could be worn out. I would do the ball joints first. You can do them yourself, it'll save you about 600 bucks over taking it to the dealer. My truck only had 80k on it and mine were shot. Let me know if you have any more questions about installing them etc...

I have some MASSIVE bump steer (like Michigan potholes literally tear the wheel out of my hands). So I got underneath the rig to inspect and found that there is no stabilizer... would that be a good idea to get one that's set up for non-OE-equipped to help the problem?

They have a few nice bolt on steering stabilizers, even some with dual shocks. I know rancho has a nice one that's affordable. 4 wheel parts offers them, so does Raul at Stealth automotive, well I think he could get you one.

I figure I am going to take the truck to a local frame shop and have them check the tie rods, ball joints, steering box, etc. to pinpoint the problem.
