Unhappy tranny going?

Well- from the symptoms I'm seeing, I think it's time for the ol 5R110 to kick the bucket.
I've been tracking my rig and it's been 7 IDENTICAL runs at 97mph and I can't break this barrier. It seems as though the power just isn't getting put down. Even when accelerating under normal load it feels like the truck is being held back. I don't know- this isn't gonna be pretty... the truck has 60,500 miles and probably about 20 passes+ down the 1/4 mile. So I guess it's due time considering the power I'm sending through this unit.

The question now... where to go? I know Suncoast seems to make a good 5R110, there's NADP as well, what about some units from Art Carr? I mean, I don't look at trannys every day, so any help would be much appreciated!
somehow my pockets need to get deeper, owning a fast diesel can be rough on the wallet

no one has any ideas- i'll bump it for the mornin.

other symptoms would be erratic shifting when going down the track. My 3-4 shift sometimes will just down to 1900rpm and than back to just under 4 grand and I won't feel any difference. The whole truck is shifting softly, but making power still... I've had 3 tunes on it and all of them feel the same at this point.

I just want to know what I'm saving my coins up for... well, benjamins if it's a tranny haha Guess the turbo and injectors are going to wait.

I have a 'o3 6.0 that was having extreme shuddering issues in top gears, felt like she was being "held back" - couldnt get power to the ground, etc, 140,000 miles. I thought for sure I needed a new tranny. Took it in - told the mechanic (a Ford mechanic working on the side - & trustable to boot with a great reputation & verifiable references!!!) Good News he reported - it isnt your tranny! 2 injectors collapsed. You havent been flashed since new - so we are going to update your computer and replace the two injectors. I said how much? He responded considerably less then a rebuild or replacement tranny cost!!! Go for it!

She runs like new now! Had the tranny flushed - but she puts the power to the ground now! Mileage is good, no more shuddering - it was injectors.

Dont give up hope yet!!!

I have a 2005 F250 w/6.0L all I can get out of it is 96-97 MPH also ( 81700miles) only tried once though.BUT, when I get up towards 4000 RPM it acts like its lacking fuel.(flooring the petal from about 45 MPH until it shifts )Could this be the injectors or something else? What is the governor set at on these trucks, MPH & RPM ? if any.

Nate is running SCT custom tunes with the speed limit turned off so that's not an issue. The truck has seen 100+ mph before. The factory rev limit is 4250 but stock tuning tapers the fuel off long before that.

Nate, I'll be home tomorrow afternoon. Let's look into getting that tranny flushed and doing some diagnoses before you start throwing cash out the window. If that tranny hasn't been flushed in 60K the original fluid has to be on it's last leg by now. Mine was starting to turn nasty at 30K. Two cases of Mercon SP, one case of beer and two filters should get the job done!

how does one flush said trans? It is something I should do, not really wanting to pay someone to do it...unless I have to.

sounds good... i have had it flushed around 45,000 miles actually (when my head studs got done... had them do everything since it was all apart).
honestly, my truck isn't making it's power that it could and so my injectors are probably to blame. the symptoms are spot on and also my tranny still shifts REALLY firmly like usual.
aaaand it was something I wanted to do anyway, so can we just blame them for now
