Question Horn going off in middle of night!

We have an 06 f250 we have had problems with the horn going off in the middle of the night 1am - 4am non stop full blow.. we found if you beat on the horn it will finally stop. We took it into the dealer while still under warranty but they said it had to be doing it to find the problem and dismissed it. Finally it went off and we couldn't get it to stop so we pulled the fuse took it into the dealer and after 3 days of the horn blowing they said they found the problem and suggested us to replace the Wheel asy. / After replacing that we bring it home and at 12:40 am it went off NOT FIXED. I started searching the Internet for a fix and find all sorts of forums with people that have ford pickups with this same problem. Yet not one of them finish the thread with a fix.. or how it was fixed
can anyone give me a fix for this. I am going to take it back to them and tell them what to look for because ford has (never) herd of this HAHA just like they were surprised the injectors went bad at 49000 miles.
So fare I have found that by hitting the horn to make it stop is what shorted the wheel asy. they said hit the breaks to turn it off.
one suggested GEM module / after looking not sure 06 has GEM its called something different.
Another said horn contact assy. Clock spring. or Horn relay not sure 06 has that either.

Have you had the batteries tested? Bad batteries will do that too, you could have a short in one or a dead cell or some other issue with them. I've seen and experienced this myself and it ended up being a bad battery.

I have a 08 and had a problem with the flashers turning on while driving, took it to the dealer and they found that the wiring harness went over the top of the steering wheel and rubbed until it started shorting out. don't know if that help or not ..

We tried to let it go without but we pull a 30 ft Jayco and last wk-end someone pulled right in-front of us and we had no horn. Rather have a horn than a heart attack
