Unknown O-Ring ???

I am knee deep in my EGR delete and oil cooler job. I removed the exhaust manifold and laying on the block on the driverside was a green O-ring a little larger than a quarter. I have been very organized and careful, and I am pretty confident that I did not drop it (but who knows) I am just trying to figure out where it came from. Anyone have any ideas?? I know this is kinda vaque but it seriously just appeared out of nowhere. I want to think that it was left behind from the previous owners maintenance, but it doesnt give me a warm fuzzy. I can post a picture of it if that will help. From what I have known green O-rings are for HVAC but maybe not.. THANKS IN ADVANCE !!

It may have come off the CCV tube elbow into the driver's side valve cover.
