Charging problem " maybe"

When I start my truck up most of the time the battery light will come on and the insight will show a little under 12 volts then it will go up shortly, then sometimes the battery light will come on and the insight will show 13, I have load tested both battery's after sitting and they both showed fine tested the alternator with a manual gauge and shows its charging while the battery light will be on, so I don't know what's going on it seems like ever since I put the sct tuner on there that's when it started,I haven't put it back to stock yet to see if that fixes anything, what do y'all think

sounds like a diode in the alternator
and that will test good till it fails completely

bu as always have each battery load tested on it's own

and if they test good have an action plan for sourcing your new alternator

Well it happened again but this time while I was driving, the battery light came on and the voltage showed 13.7 on the insight. Would anything else make the battery light come on

could be the regulator circuit (inside the alternator) or the circuit in the dash (unlikely)

Check all the connections for corrosion and tight fit. I would really be aiming at the alternator though

I am going to tag along on this. Can anyone confirm that the actual output should be 14V (Charging) from the alternator. Mine was replaced under warrenty after talking with ED from FICM repair previous voltage range was from the 11's to high 12's. My FICM Voltage is good never dips below 48, yet now I am again reading low charging (12.3-13.6V) via the Scangauge, and also confirmed with my Multimeter at the Alternator itself. All my posts, connections and cables are good and clean. Just put in two new batteries as well. As a side note, the "New" Alternator is a reman :/

normal should be 13.5-14.5 on any 12v system. If you have a failing alternator or regulator It can cause your low output concern.
