Trans temp and coolant temp different?

My trans temp shows normal but once it is warmed up the coolant temperature is still a little cool. They are factory gauges so they do not show exact temperatures. I just thought it was odd that they were different.

Those gauges r just for show my trans gauge is the exact same place when its 80 deg. Or 160 deg. Buy yourself a edge cts then u can monitor everything correctly !!

That plugs into the obdII port right? So what if I got a sct tuner and wanted to tune it also?

your transmission fluid bypasses the radiator until it hits 180
so don't expect the ECT and trans temp be the same after the truck has been driven for a while when your monitoring
