striped hfcm plug

striped hfcm plug don't know what to do? any help would be great. drained plug would not tighten up any more, removed plug and found part of tread on plug. would up grade solve this?

just loctite the tread of the plug?

No. Not just loctite. By the way there are a lot of different grades of loctite.

Use loctite "Form-A-Thread"
