Unhappy Head Shopping.....

Not that kinda head! I know how to use Backpage and Craigslist! You dirty minded guys! lol

Anyways, some of you may have seen other threads of mine recently and know my situation with the broken valve and having everything at the machine shop and blah blah blah. I called today as it has almost been two weeks to check up and they informed me that BOTH of my heads are cracked. I have not really paid much attention to head prices and places that sell them so looking for you guys opinions on what route I should go. Also, this is a knee jerk reaction to the news. .

Hmmm. What kinda issues? Is it a legit issue or just a few people who have reported that they had received bad heads from them? Bad items happen when making things..

Apparently quality has gone down since demand had risen with Clearwater

Well they will do 2 heads shipped for 1350. What could be so wrong with them? Get them checked for flatness and carry on. They come with a 5 year warranty. Who hasn't been having problems with heads? I called Quick Tricks and their new heads are from overseas also.

I have a head from CCH and it cracked in the first few K. Shack got 2 NEW casting heads for them and they didn't even make it 300 miles before cracking and dumping all kinds of coolant in his exhaust. If you need heads now bite the bullet and get new ones from Ford. They are expensive yes but better than any others. Just have them looked over at the machine shop when you get them.

Blackwater is in the Tidewater area. I talked to them 6 or 8 weeks back about a set of reman heads. IIRC, they wanted $1400 for a set with hardened inserts...3 or 4 day lead time. Might be worth a phone call. FYI

Blackwater info:

4625 Kincaid Ave
Norfolk, VA 23502
